Absolute Compliance

Absolute Medical Waste is serious about our compliance obligations and because of this we exceed all state and federal regulations in all aspects of the transportation process, from the time we pick up your waste at your office to the time we dispose of your waste at a designated treatment facility. All of our employees are fully trained in OSHA compliance and have completed BBP training. We guarantee that your office will be in compliance with all local and federal regulations and each time your waste is picked up we will provide a certificate of destruction.

Absolute Transportation & Treatment

Absolute Medical Waste transports all waste in company owned, fully licensed, and permitted vehicles that meet or exceed all regulatory requirements. Our drivers wear protective clothing, they use dollys to transfer the waste out of your facility, have completed their Blood Born Pathogen training, and carry DOT medical cards.  All waste picked up is brought to a state of the art designated treatment facility. All disposal facilities are properly permitted and in compliance with the corresponding state. All regulated medical waste collected by Absolute Medical Waste is treated to state and/or federal standards prior to being recycled or disposed of in a landfill.

Meet the Founders

Seeing a need for a more competitive priced and customer focused approach to medical waste services, Dan and Aric launched Absolute Medical Waste in 2015. Both Dan and Aric are third generation garbage men, both are life-long friends have shared in a variety of business and personal experiences together. Dan and Aric have grown up in the Christian church and believe that their Christian values, beliefs, and hard work will guide them to a successful business.

Principal and Owner

Dan has over 14 years of service industry experience in both the technology and medical waste fields. Graduating with a degree in Accounting & Business from Calvin College, he went to work for an IT consulting company in West Michigan. As the General Manager, he ran the day-to-day operations involving project team management, finance, and most importantly, customer service. Prior to starting Absolute Medical Waste, Dan most recently wrapped up a half decade starting, growing, and operating the Michigan Region for a medical waste disposal company located near Chicago. Dan currently runs all day-to-day operations for Absolute Medical Waste in Michigan. Dan resides on the SE side of Grand Rapids, MI with his wife Lindsey, his son Duke and daughter Chloe. Dan and his family attend Ada Bible Church and in his free time he enjoys fishing, hunting, being outdoors, and playing sports with his 2 year old son.

Aric Van Weelden

Principal and Owner

Aric has operational and industry experience in positions with Indiana Waste Systems, Allied Waste Industries, and Veolia Environmental Services Hazardous Waste have provided him a deep knowledge of the waste industry. His diverse experiences also include development of renewable technologies for Ameresco Inc. in Massachusetts, and several years working in real estate in Indianapolis. Aric earned his undergraduate degree in Finance and Masters of Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago. Aric also played on their Division-1 basketball team for 4 years, where he met his wife Cara who played soccer there, and now is a Orthopedic Physician Assistant in Indianapolis. Aric and Cara attend Trader’s Point Christian Church and reside in Zionsville, IN with their two dogs Otto and Remi.
